PrivaFone
is pleased to announce that we have improved our
acid phosphatase (AP) detection strips. The new strips
are heat stable and do not turn brown over time. They
are manufactured using a completely solid-phase process.
The inner strip, which is coated with reagents, is
sandwiched between clear polypropylene tape and an opaque vinyl
backing. After use, the strips may be resealed, and
the purple color shows through the transparent cover.
The backing also has peel-off adhesive, allowing the
investigator conveniently to affix the strip to a notebook
for permanent record-keeping. The strips are shipped
in a resealable pouch with desiccant. The new strips
are sensitive down to at least a 1/500 dilution of semen,
comparable to Phosphatesmo KM. QC results of the new
strips are shown below:
Here's a
close-up view of the new strip, after exposure to semen
(note that the color shows through the transparent cover
very well):
As usual,
inquiries
from the press are cordially invited.
